MHRC Responds to PRSM’s calls on the Government to put on hold ATI regulations

The Malawi Human Rights Commission, which is legally mandated to coordinate the implementation of the Access to Information Act, has reacted positively to the statement issued by the Public Relations Society of Malawi on Sunday September 27, 2020 which called on the government to hold on to the gazetting of the ATI Regulations and pave way for stakeholder consultations.

MHRC has since asked the Ministry of Information to pend the operationalisation of the regulations for one more month, saying PRSM has raised valid points that need to be listened to.
