Rachel Kalera Mhango is a strategic communications and media engagement professional with over a decade of experience working at the intersection of science communication, digital media, and advocacy. As a thought leader in public engagement, she excels at creating content that drives policy influence, enhances public awareness, mobilizes resources, and shifts narratives for development and social change.
With a strong background in mainstream media and media production, Rachel holds a Bsc. Mass Communication and Master’s degree in Media Practice for Development and Social Change from the University of Sussex, UK.
She is also a distinguished Chevening Scholar, a Mandela Washington Fellow for the Young African Leaders Initiative and an Alumni of the Women’s Leadership Development Programme at University of Oxford – UK. Through her work at both the regional and national levels, Rachel has directed digital strategies across various sectors, consistently ensuring that all communications are innovative, measurable, and impactful.
